Born in Mexico, Montalbán's career spanned seven decades, during which time he was famous for performances in a variety of genres, from crime, theater to musicals and comedy. Among his most popular roles, he has played the role of Armando in the Monkey Planet series from the early 1970s, playing both Escape from the Planet of the Apes and Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. As the villain Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically enhanced human, he starred in both the original Star Trek TV series and Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan. Ricardo Montalbán played the role of Mr. Roarke in the television series Fantasy Island.
